User Defined
The System Administrator or Maintenance Manager can set up or define custom fields that user will enter and update as the part flows through the processes in iMaint. The fields are to help you track information that might be specific to your company. The fields are defined in the Utilities module, within the Management node, which is generally only accessible by the System Administrator or Maintenance Manager.
When defining fields for Parts, the System Administrator chooses Parts as the Linking Category. Data type, data length, display order, default values, and labels are applied and defined at the same time.
Once the custom fields are established, maintenance personnel may enter or revise values in the fields (except for the Field Names and Unit Of Measure, as they are read only).
