Codes

Codes can be used for many purposes in iMaint. Codes can be used to identify characteristics of work orders such as reasons for failure or delays. If you established a Code Type Solution, you may create Codes such as Replaced Part, Added Lubrication, and Trained Operator to explain what we did when we performed the work requested on a work order. You can also create codes to gather specified information such as vibration analysis results, valve conditions, and temperature readings.

The Code Process Flow:

  1. Establish a Code Type - Reading, or Failure or even Solution

  2. Create Codes

    • Failure (ex. drop in pressure, temperature too hot, excess moisture, calibration problem)

    • Readings (ex. temperature, pressure, moisture, calibration)

    • Solutions (ex. added fluids, reset gauge, set breakers)

  1. On the Asset record, define the code.  Set up a code to include either a range of values, or a set value/state.

  2. When this asset is on the WO, and the employee enters a code that is NOT within normal range or matches to the normal state or normal value (and a procedure is associated) it will trigger a work request.

  3. Go to Review Work Request. You may either approve the work request so that corrections can be made to fix the codes values or cancel it.
