Shift Records
The Shift records are used to track resource-related shift information for employees and other labor resources. It is used in the contact form to define valid shifts for employees and it is used in the schedule form (asset/procedure junction object) to define valid shifts for a job to be performed on this specific piece of equipment. Also, if you plan to use the Resource Allocation module, you will want to make sure to enter the correct number of hours in the Duration field. The Duration of a shift will be used to calculate the hours considered available to assign to work orders.

Description |

Shift ID |
Unique identifier of the the shift for the work in the manufacturing plant. Shift ID is any combination of numbers or letters (alphanumeric) up to 25 characters, including spaces. |

Shift Description |
The description of the shift for the work in the manufacturing plant. Examples of shift would include day, evening, night and four on, four off. You enter a new description directly into this field. Shift Description accepts numbers or letters (alphanumeric) up to 255 characters, including spaces. |

Start Time |
The hour/minute of the day this particular shift begins. The Start Time displays in time format (00:00). |

End Time |
The hour/minute of the day that this particular shift ends. The End Time displays in time format (00:00). |

Split Shift Start Time |
The hour/minute of the day this particular shift restarts after their time off. This is intended to accommodate lunch hour, but rather a shift that is 8 to 12 in the morning and then again four to eight in the evening. Split Shift Start Time displays in time format (00:00). |

Split Shift End Time |
The hour/minute of the day this particular shift ends after their second work period. This is intended to accommodate lunch hour, but rather a shift that is 8 to 12 in the morning and then again four to eight in the evening. Split Shift End Time displays in time format (00:00). |

Duration |
Enter the duration of the shift in hours. This field is used during resource allocation calculations. |

Total Shift Hours |
The total number of hours that apply to the shift specified. This display only field calculates the total of the two values when you subtract the start times from their end times. Total Shift Hours displays as a numeric value. |

Comments |
Any additional information about the Shift which may print on reports or be used in a search capacity, but has no functional use in iMaint. Information in this field must be text only with a limit of 40,000 characters. |
