Meters Subtab
The Asset Meters subtab tracks asset-related meter information.
Asset meters may not be deleted if they are associated with an asset warranty. Each time you edit the meter reading here, as well as the Meter Update form and during the Work Order completion process, a record will be written to the Meter Log. This will contain all the information on the record at the time it was changed including the current date the reading was updated.
The number of clicks between the Assets primary meter's last updated reading and the current reading is the Distance Traveled. This value can't be displayed until the first meter reading is updated. Distance traveled will not be updated if the lower meter value being entered has a meter log record with a date greater than the date of the meter transactions. Distance Traveled is calculated based on meter updates done through the Fueling transactions.
Before creating a Meter line item, you will need to establish the different Meter Types possible for all your Assets. For example, a Meter does not have to be an odometer on a vehicle. Many pieces of equipment have meters used to measure temperature or pressure. If you have multiple Meters on an Asset you must mark one as the Primary. The Primary will be used as the default Meter throughout iMaint.
Note: Labels with red text denote required fields. You must enter information in these fields.
| Field |
Description |
|
Meter Type ID |
A unique identifier for the meter type that the user is associating with this asset. Typical examples include: hour meter, product counter, odometer, click meter, line meter, hub meter, etc. Meter Type ID accepts numbers or letters (alphanumeric) up to 25 characters, including spaces. |
|
Meter Type Description |
Description of the meter type that is being defined. Examples of meter types would include Click, Hour, Product or Odometer. You enter a new description directly into this field. The Meter Type Description accepts numbers or letters (alphanumeric) up to 255 characters, including spaces. |
|
Current Reading |
The current value on the meter. If you enter a value that is less than the current value in the field, a warning displays, asking if the new value should be retained. Current Reading displays as a decimal number (0000000000.00). |
|
Calculate Average Count Per Day |
A checkbox indicating whether or not iMaint should calculate what a daily meter count would be based on the history being recorded in the system. This field defaults to unchecked (do not calculate). If checked, the Average Count Per Day field will be calculated by the system automatically. If not checked, information in this must be entered manually. |
|
Average Count Per Day |
The number of increments of the meter on this particular asset per day. This field is read-only if the Calculate Average Count Per Day field is selected and the field is updated as part of the scheduling process. Otherwise, the user can enter this value manually. This field accepts numbers (000,000.00) and cannot be negative. |
|
Rollover |
The value at which the meter rolls over. Not all meters have this value. Those that are used as switches or indicators, for example, do not. This field is for informational purposes only. Not all meters will have a rollover value. Rollover displays as a decimal number (0000000000.00). |
|
UOM (Unit of Measure) |
The condition evaluated by the meter. For example, product count may be counted by either 'case' or 'each'; time may be measured by 'hours' or 'days'; and hub meters may count either 'kilometers' or 'miles'. |
|
Comments |
Any additional information about the meter which may print on reports or be used in a search capacity, but has no functional use in iMaint. Information in this field must be text only with a limit of 40,000 characters. |
